 Kanpur
October has arrived in a swirl of leaves, wind and rain. Though the hot Singapore sun firmly remains in place, the downpour often accompanies the heat. It does not feel like the autumn described in books; vocal winds, amber colored leaves of the past - a song of metamorphsis twining through the very essence of a country.

In Singapore the weather solidly stays put. However the people cling to fall, present in pictures of pumpkins and painted silvery leaves. Though our fall is not one of dying foliage and melodious songs; ours is one of clouds embracing the sun, heavy raindrops swirling through the air.

For my break I spent the first week in Singapore, accompanied by friends and laughter. I celebrated my birthday and hung out. Fourteen a number that is not widely acknowledged but is full of promise.

Then I left for my grandfather's house in Kanpur. I'll detail my stay in my next post.
